The problem, as far as I can tell, is that women spend infinitely more time than men paying attention to, competing with, worrying about, everyone other than themselves.

About This Quote

This is a very interesting quote from a very interesting man. It speaks about the difference between men and women. In my experience, most people believe that women are more interested in other people than men are. And, I think it’s true.

In fact, the more I think about it, the more I believe this is true. I have a best friend, and every time we hang out she complains about all of her girlfriends being so busy with their own lives that they don’t have time to spend with me. She has a few friends that she really enjoys spending time with but most of her friends are guys that she doesn’t care about as much as she does me. I have never once been asked out by one of her girlfriends and I have been invited out on dates by every guy she knows.

And, as far as men go, my best friend can go weeks without talking to any of them at all. Now, I understand that not every woman is like this but it seems to me that these types of stories are far more common among women than they are among men. One other interesting thing that I noticed while reading this quote was that he says that “women pay infinitely more attention to, compete with, worry about everyone else than they do themselves…” And, while he talks about women spending infinitely more time competing with other people than they do paying attention to themselves it seems clear to me that he is saying the same thing about men too. Men spend infinitely more time competing with other men than they do paying attention to themselves or their families.
